Had a big 8 walk out in a bean field and bed down about 6:30 hunting w/ my son tonight. After about 20 minutes, I rattled at him and he got up and looked for a while and then bedded back down. When it was really dark, him and another fine 8 battled it out. Saw 4 bucks tonight. Fun Night. Ready to go back.

Does anyone know if there is a place that keeps a record of youth hunts? My son killed a big buck, he is 11 years old and killed a 17 point buck in Kentucky's Youth hunt this weekend. Just wonder if he broke a record?? He also was wanting to see if he couldn't get an article in the local newspaper where he hunted. He hunted close to Fort Campbell.

Post a pic please. I'd love to feature it on huntkentucky.blogspot.com
Love seeing the young kids get deer. To answer your question about records, there are no records kept on different age groups as far as I know. Do you know what it scored?

My son and I saw a really big 8 pter Saturday night but he decided to lay down in the beans before dark. Saw 8 different bucks Sunday morning. My son really wanted to take a small 8 at about 40 yards and then changed his mind. I think it was a good choice. Sunday evening was quiet. Only one small buck.
